Makena vs progesterone suppository

Mi

I had my daughter at 34wks, water just broke one night, zero warning signs and normal pregnancy.

My old OB said if I got pregnant again, I’d have to get Makena shots. She unfortunately switched specialties so I had to get a new OB.

This OB feels I just need to use progesterone suppositories starting at 16wks, and felt that’s more effective then getting the shots.

Has anyone else heard this? I’m getting frustrated as I’m trying to advocate for myself/this baby and everything I’ve found research wise says I should be getting the shots. I have anxiety about having another preemie/NICU stay so want to keep this baby in!

Shots are for: previous preterm labor and cervix is normal length.

Suppository is for: previous preterm labor with a short cervix.

My cervix length is 2.5 which anything over 2 is normal.

Anyone else have insight or what your doctor is saying?
