Tinder Question

So question about Tinder. If you logout of your account or delete the app (don’t deactivate account) you still show up as visible correct and people can match you? You can still get messages. You’re just inactive. My boyfriend was recently traveling and through a city my cousin lives in. She freaked because he appeared on her Tinder and she recognized him instantly. However during this whole time his location distance has never changed. Still hasn’t. Not at that time. Not when he went 1,000 miles away. Not that he is back home. And it’s a shorter distance than between us. Does he have to login for his distance to change? Like did he login check messages show up on hers and logout and it never updates. Or it just recognized he was in a new location and he showed up but his distance doesn’t update unless he logs in. Or how does this work? Thanks! I’ve been pretty calm because I think inactive profiles show up but now a little more concerned and confused

I do plan to not mention it till I see him next time then ask to see his phone and check his Tinder and settings. And I have reason to as he showed up on my cousins. And be like I’m just proving her and the family wrong and that unless deactivated Tinder accounts still appear but you’re not cheating on me and I know that but just confirming for them who are worried. And then he doesn’t see it coming to hide something if it’s not innocent
