Any mamas already make the switch to formula?

I can’t stop crying about it. 😭😢 Any advice you can share to help me keep my sanity? (It was too painful for me and I let my milk dry up.)

I stopped after 2 weeks as well. Best decision for my sanity that I’ve ever made. It was amazing how much better i felt mentally after switching. I do have some guilt but the most important thing is that my son is fed and is gaining weight in a healthy way. Do not put yourself down. Your baby will be healthy on formula or on breast milk!

Similar situation here.  It was a tough decision and I do feel bad about it but realize it was the right decision.  Without the stress of breastfeeding and pumping, I am able to get in more kangaroo care time.  So much better for us than having stressful breastfeeding sessions.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to breastfeed but honestly “fed is best”. I have so many friends who are absolutely devastated that their supply didn’t come in/isn’t enough/baby still hungry. Full baby = happier baby = happier mum. Good work with trying to breastfeed 🤱🏻 there’s enough mum guilt out there without adding more!

Don’t feel guilty, what matters is you tried and you gave your baby the best chance by giving them their first feeds by breast. 
With my first I gave up after 2 weeks, I tried but it was too rough for me and what mattered the most was my health, I would rather my baby be on formula and a mother that is on top form. Than my child have a mother that is not their best and is lacking and at risk of falling into depression because of not feeling good enough.

I’ve been supplementing with formula for a little over 3 weeks, and to be honest, it saves myself mentally! I am also pumping but I don’t make enough milk, I do occasionally try to nurse but it isn’t our go to. All that matters is the baby is being fed in my opinion ♥️ and my son seems happier on formula- he sleeps longer stretches through the night when he eats it and he can go a full 2-3 hours without eating. On my milk sometimes we can get to 2 but mostly he starts fussing 1.5 hours after eating, I don’t think my milk has enough calories to satisfy him. I felt bad initially when my supply dropped, but then I realized my sanity and his comfort was way more important than stressing over it! I think this is way more common than many women want people to know about!

A fed baby and healthy mama are all that matter. I'll have to stop breastfeeding soon so I can take my antidepressants and I feel so guilty but it's what's best for me mentally and in the best interest so I can be a happy healthy mama for baby. Your feeding baby that's all that matters

I had to stop after 4 days as I ended up in the hospital and have been on antibiotics for almost a month. My little one is doing fine and sleeping in 4 hour sessions at night, so I’m fine with it.

I stopped after 2 weeks to, baby wasn’t latching right, and was non stop crying because she was so hungry! Best decision ever! She’s much more happy, sleeps well eats amazing and barley cries now! You did good mama! All we can do is try! I was also worried I was gunna fall into a depression because of it, I cried all the time, and just wasn’t happy, now I’m way happier and I feel like I have a life outside feedings!
