Any of your babies out of the crib and in a toddler bed/twin yet?

Question

If yes, please describe how your transitioned your LO. My LO is starting to try to climb out of his crib, thankfully he hasn't been successful yet. We are going to get him a 'big boy bed' but need tips on how to transition to this milestone. He is super active and I'm scared he is not going to stay in bed during the night. Any tips? Thank you!

I switched my now 3 year old at 2 years because we were in the same boat. He was getting ready to climb out and I didn't want him to get hurt. So we took a rail off of his bead and put up one of those side protectors but hated it. So we go a pool noodle and put that under his sheet so he couldn't roll out. It worked awsome. 
We did put a baby gate on his bedroom door in case he did get up in the night. He seemed to stay in his bed once we layed him down. But he has always been a great sleeper.

We put it together in front of my daughter and she was so excited about it. She adjusted really well. We keep two pillows at the entrance of her bed in case she falls out - which has only happened once. She stays in bed when we tuck her in. 
My daughter is a climber and I was so scared she would attempt to climb out of bed. 
I feel we converted her at the right time. She was ready. :).

I have the monitor volume all the way up so I hear him if he wakes. I also have a small gate outside his door so he cant get out

I just put a body pillow off the side of the toddler bed so if they fell out it was soft. And we got a baby gate for the door. Sometimes we'd find him asleep next to the door with a pillow and blankie and just lay him back in bed. (We did it at 12 months with both of them)

My daughter fell out her bed for a week before she got a hang of it. And would either sleep on the floor or climb back on. She finally spent though out the night with out falling in the floor so proud of her. Just just gotta know what works for them. ( my daughter climbed out of her crib often onto changing table ) why we moved her to bed

We have a convertible crib and put him to the toddler portion about a month ago! He was a fast transitioner! The first night I sat in his room awhile for him to get used to it and he realized he could get in and out the 2nd I put him in did our night time routine and put baby gate up so he couldn’t escape. He cried with his blanket for about 10 min by the door the crawled in and went right to bed! If we put him to bed when he’s not tired (but his bedtime) he gets up and plays with toys but we tell him it’s night night time and he gives us a kiss and goes to bed!

We didn’t do anything special to help our 16 month old transition to the toddler bed. I set it up early in the day and let him play in his room with it set up. He would sit on it, bring his blanket to it, etc. At nap time I made sure he was extra sleepy before I put him in the bed. He’s been perfect at sleeping in it since.

I made my sons a big big bed before he even turned one and it helped so much for us. He HATED sleeping in his crib, so after we transitioned I would/still do sit with him till he falls asleep then he just sleeps for mostly the whole night. We wake up about 2-3 times and I just lay him back down and he goes back to sleep, but it works way better than an absolute no to the crib lol...hope you find what works for you.
