My ten year old German Shepherd dog has been a great part of the family and is very loved by everyone. She has been so kind and has even protected us against home intruders In the past.

Unfortunately, she has had problems with her hips and back for awhile. Because she is in so much pain, an appointment has been set up to take her to the vet today because she has to be put down. Anyone else who has been through this please tell me how I can comfort her. I’m so upset but don’t want to scare her, and I don’t want to do nothing either.
