Are bassinets worth the money?

No. If you have the pack and play, and can fit it in your room, it has an upper level option so you don’t need to bend over far. I just used that.

The bassinet was nice to have and it’s been nice to have the pack n play after he outgrew the bassinet and for when we travel but I think for the next baby we will just move the crib into our room. I like not having to store tons of baby furniture that they only use for a few months lol

We decided on the PNP because we wanted something that we could use later on and for travel since we take road trips to see family a lot. We felt the bassinet would be a waste since he would grow out of it, but it really depends on your needs!

My son slept in a bassinet for about a month while i was recoving from my c-section and it was wayy smaller than a PNP. Afterwards we just used it to lay him in because it was small and was able to move it easily. Now with my second, we're using a bassinet at first because we have little space and the crib is too big to be in the room with us. I want to be able to turn and feed my baby when she's ready to eat instead of walking to the other room and having her wake up our son. If you're concerned about the money I suggest getting a second hand one from a trading app or facebook marketplace instead of a new one. I got mine from a lady on this app called Letgo for $50 (which I should have waited for because the week after women were selling theirs for $20)

I started with a pack n play from the start and it does the job. However it took a couple weeks for my baby to like to sleep in there so it would have been nice to have the bassinet, I think the pack n play felt too big and open for him.  That being said, he would have grown out of the bassinet by about 8 weeks old.
For my next child I plan to get a bedside cosleeper to use from the beginning.

This is what we used for 5 months. We could have used it longer but decided it was time for our little one to sleep in her own room.
