Step daughter

So I’m kinda new to this stem mom thing but I could use some advice. My stepdaughter is 3 and a half and her mom really isn’t involved that much. She lives with us almost full time. She goes to her moms house one day during the weekend. She also just started coming with me to daycare on Tuesday. She is very attached to me and always really has been since meeting her. She really only wants me to do things with her or for her. She doesn’t want her dad doing that much. I’m just wondering if that’s a normal thing?
