My husband and I have full custody of his 1 year old daughter, her mother gets visitation rights every other weekend. Her mother has 3 kids (ages 2, 1, and 2 weeks) 2 of which she lost custody of, but she eventually got the 1st baby back due to the ending of the safety plan. Her mother is no joke, psychotic. She’s harassed all of us on social media, never checks up on her daughter but made a fake number to make it look like she does, and her first 2 kids have tested positive for marijuana by pee and hair follicles 3 times. Multiple times she has came home with lotion slathered in her hair to cover up the smell of cigarette smoke. She was diagnosed with asthma and mild lung damage from when her mother smoked while pregnant and while holding her for the first 3 months of her life. Today my stepdaughter came home and not only had lotion everywhere, like she almost slipped out of my hands when I got her, she has a horrible rash, that she didn’t leave with, and came home in a size 4 diaper when she wears a size 6, she’s in 3T clothes and came back in a size 18 month onesie. She also came home very thirsty and hungry, and she doesn’t eat often. I’m not sure what else to do, the courts do not seem to care, our lawyer has run out of solutions and my stepdaughter is miserable. Is there anything else to try?
