Curious on plan b

Me n my partner had sex on sunday took the plan b pill on tuesday. My doctor said it was fine. I was wondering how long does it last. Just had sex friday. Told my partner we cant have another👶 due to me having 2 hernias. I already have a 5 year old & 8 month old. Waiting on my doctor to see what is best for me for birth control.
