Need help... Can a pregnant women get the Down syndrome test done at 7 months pregnant?

So today I overheard my family talking about a family friend who lost her baby at 7 months. The only things I heard was... she got some tears down for Down syndrome and other things because she’s 35 or somewhere around there. They checked her baby out and he had something in his lungs or heart. Something about some liquid went inside there... so she ended up getting the Down syndrome and other abnormalities test done that women 35 and over would get in their stomach. As well supposedly she was fine throughout her pregnancy. I’am nervous and freaking out because i’am 5 months pregnant and i’am in my early 20’s. I’am scared God forbid of something happening like that. Especially to find her pregnancy was supposedly fine until the 7th month mark.
