Did you get a blood test to confirm pregnancy even though you knew you were pregnant?

The lady on the phone at the doctors office when I asked said she doesn’t recommend me paying to get a blood test done and that I should just wait until 9/10 weeks (the earliest I can get an ultrasound there) but I’m a little nervous if my hcg levels are looking good or not.

Unless you have had a history of miscarriages you won’t get a blood test. It’s not something that’s routinely done in most offices.

Weird. Most places they give you a blood test for one of your first appointments.

You don’t need blood tests to confirm. If you have no bleeding, bad cramping then there’s no need. If you have history of miscarriages, maybe some offices do it not all. 
I had 3 miscarriages before this baby & I didn’t do any early testing or ultrasound until I went to my first appointment at 9 weeks. Getting it done early could cause you to worry over a number that changes daily.

Depends, I had to have it done at my work clinic to comfirm pregnancy as there is no OBGyn and I had to stop working due to pregnancy. My OB just did an ultrasound at 4 weeks to confirm. All countries/doctors are working in a  different way 😊

It was required to schedule my first prenatal but it was covered by my insurance

With my situation I was 16 days late and the pregnancy test were all negative so they did blood and bam pregnant 🤰🏼 one week later I got a positive urine. I have my second ultrasound tomorrow I was supposed to be 10 weeks but two weeks ago when we went there was only a sac and yolk which I could have been early on. But honestly with that being said I got the blood at my doctors and then the next week at the obgyn they were also wanting to do blood but couldn’t get me to bleed. I came back the next week(when I had my ultrasound) and they told me they didn’t want to do blood now because they didn’t want to poke me if it wasn’t a good pregnancy so they’re waiting to see if it’s okay 🙄 I cried so hard because I felt like they could have done blood and checked my levels and didn’t. I’m also O- and my husband is AB+ so I’m scared I’m RH- but they never checked 🤷🏻‍♀️ this is my first so hopefully all is well. Good luck at the doctor and I will say if you aren’t happy with them then change doctors it’s all about you being comfortable

I never got my levels tested, after I got my positives I just called OBGYN and set up my first appt which included ultrasound. you can however start taking prenatal to help with growth!
