Mastitis ? Clogged Ducts?

These past few days , i've felt a bump on my underboob & it's really tender to touch. I push on it & i see milk coming out , but everytime it gets full , it really hurts... I don't see my doctor until Wednesday... Any Advice ? Any thoughts on what it could probably be? Thank You.

I had this too. It was a blocked duct and didnt turn in to mastitis because I acted quickly. However, it took about 3 weeks to be completely gone. I saw my doctor who said massage, hand express after feeding, use hot compress (warm water in a nappy stays hotter for longer) feed from the affected side as much as possible (offer it first every feed until it is resolved- offer other side second and pump/express), use a breast pump. My nipple felt so bruised and it was too curling to feed, but it eventually resolved. I didn't need any medication.

Lots of massage while nursing!  Push from behind the clog toward the nipple.  It will be sore, but worth doing before it becomes mastitis.

Probably clogged duct. Had this happen once. I took a hot shower and squeezed it out. The duct popped and milk sprayed out everywhere from nipple area that was blocked. It was crazy. But relief and all was better!!

I was diagnosed with mastitis. Do you have other symptoms like aches or chills? There would also be red marks on breasts. If you don’t have those, it may just be clogged duct. Try a warm shower and hand express. Try to have baby start feed on that side each time. Good luck!
