What do I need for a baby???

Okay y’all, sorry for the ignorance but I need some help. I’m going to be a FTM in December. I’m trying to figure out my baby registry, I’m mostly using it like a checklist to keep track of what I need vs what I have. And I need help. I’ve never been around babies, Hell I’ve never even held a newborn/baby except once in my nursing OB rotation when I had to pass the baby to his mama. That’s literally it. Toddlers I can handle, I’m cool with toddlers. But I don’t know the first damn thing about babies. So, can y’all help a girl out and recommend the best baby items, and which to stay away from/are completely unnecessary/worthless? We don’t have a ton of money, so I don’t want to spend a bunch on gear I’ll never use. I’ve tried using Pinterest for lists but I don’t know how many of each item I’ll need, and I don’t know what I’ll need vs what they think I’ll need but I really don’t.
