So my boyfriend and I have been together since November 2017. We were mainly long distance except for some weekends. We used condoms the first few months we had sex but now we don’t very frequently, if at all, because we are monogamous. In March 2018, I got my first Pap smear and std testing and everything came back good except for some abnormal cells so I would need to get another exam in a year.

Fast forward to March 2019: we go on spring break to visit his family. I used these scented EV wipes for the first time and developed a really bad odor, discharge and itch. However I only had it for two or three days, thought it was just a small allergic reaction and afterwards we had unprotected sex twice later that week. After the trip, I went to the doctor anyway for my annual pap, opted not to get STD tested again since me and the bf had been together for over a year now, and got diagnosed with BV. I took the gel antibiotics you insert in yourself, went back for another checkup in late April to make sure it was gone and it was.

Last week, my bf started having drops of blood whenever he went to pee. He didn’t have any other symptoms or pains however. He went to the doctors, they did all sorts of tests, and they diagnosed him with a bladder infection/UTI. Then he gets a call this past weekend while he’s with me saying he tested positive for Chlamydia. Now, I of course am shocked and immediately accused him of cheating, was gonna break up with him and everything. But after seeing him cry for the first time ever cause he was so confused on how he could have it, I know that something just doesn’t seem right about it...1) He works M-F, I’m with him every Friday-Sunday, except maybe for one or two weekends in the past 6 months 2) he doesn’t even like going out without me, all he does after work is drink and watch sports or play Xbox 3) I’m his first serious relationship and the only girl he’s said I love you to and we’re truly best friends 4) We text/snap/tag each other in Facebook memes every day and I always usually know what he’s doing. I am not trying to make excuses but I just know that him cheating just all sounds highly unlike him to me.

So I guess here are my questions..: Is it possible he’s had it for over a year from a girl before me? (He’s never been tested for STD’s and not sure if he used condoms frequently before me) Could bacteria from us having sex while I had BV in March caused it to develop into Chlamydia? (I am set to get tested for any STD’s this weekend so I’m unsure if I have it currently) Could it have just been a false positive from this so called bladder infection he had?? (He also had just finished taking antibiotics for that when he got the call) Or am I just really refusing to believe he could have been unfaithful somehow??? 😣 another side note is that I am now a month late on my period but have take pregnancy tests and they’re all negative, but could this be a symptom that I have chlamydia?? I’m just so unsure about everything and would love any advice or knowledge please 🥺😔
