Any difference in Spectra S1 vs S2?

I see everyone on here singing the praises of the Spectra S2. I found a great deal at a local store on the Spectra S1, is there any difference between the two?

The s1 is actually better! It’s the same pump except the s1 has the ability to run on a rechargeable battery so it’s more convenient for pumping on the go. Most people end up with the s2 because it’s the one most insurance will cover for free.

The S1 is blue and rechargeable and the S2 is pink and has to be plugged in to work. Other than that, they’re exactly the same pump.

Being a first time mom I was wondering the same thing and decided to go with the one that doesn’t have the battery; I didn’t realize the benefit. However a month into it I would definitely go back and get the one with the battery because it would allow more freedom. You can pump while your driving (you can buy an adapter like I did for the car) and walk around the house and do little things, and if he starts crying it would be easier to pick up the baby and at least move to a swing or bouncer. If he cries now I have to stop and disconnect the parts.

I’ve only used the S2 and I liked it. Your insurance should cover the cost of a pump - you can call them and see which one they will cover.
