Which one is best for new baby sleeping in your room?

Question

Trying to decide if it’s best to get a stand alone bassinet, or get a pack & play that has the bassinet feature? Baby will be sleeping in our room for at least the first 6 months. 
Other suggestions are welcome!

We are a chicco next to me crib much bigger than a Mose basket and easier to get baby out to fed of a night time. Just waiting for baby now

I used a pack and play for all 3 of my babies in my room. It's really personal preference and there is no right or wrong answer. I like the pack and play because that's all I had to buy. I spent $100 on mine and I've used it so much. In the beginning I used it as a bassinet and mine had a changing table attached to it as well. Then it became a play pen I could put the baby in to stay safe while I ran to the bathroom or did the dishes. I've traveled with it and taken it to grandparent's houses so baby could nap while we visited. It's gone camping with us and I've taken it outside to put baby in while I gardened. I'm on my third baby and it's still being used regularly. It really is the best $100 I've spent.

i HIGHLY recommend this bassinet, it is bigger than the regular bassinet, but doesn’t take as much room up as a pack n play! My nephew uses it and he is 7 months old and is still sleeping in it

Arm’s Reach Co-sleeper! I used a PNP for my first baby and it was not ideal.

I second the next2me. Amazing and can be used on a slight incline for reflux babies which changed my life when I found out

We have both... We use the Halo Bassinest in our room upstairs and a 4Moms Playard (with changer and bassinet) in the living room. So baby sleeps in that during the day while we are up.

We used the uppababy bassinet until he grew out of it and then I bought a bigger one so I could still have him right next to me. I guess if your room dimensions work to do that with a pack n play, go for it, but if not, I highly recommend something that can be right next to you.

I bought a Halo bassinet and a Pack n Play. My daughter slept well in the Halo and we loved the bassinet...but she just outgrew it at 14 weeks. We have transitioned her to the Pack n Play and it’s going OK. I just think in hind sight, I would have skipped the bassinet and just gotten the Pack n Play, just so we don’t have to keep transitioning her. Because around 6 months, we will transition her to her crib. I think the Pack n Play is a good idea, but it does take up some space.
