Any tips? Coarse curly hair

I have coarse curly thick hair. Before my son I would straighten it a lot. After having my son I cut most of it off in a pixie cut. I loved the cut but didn’t have time for the upkeep. I would have to get it cut ever 4 weeks. Will it’s now grown in so a almost good length but not long enough to put up. I don’t have time to straighten it every day and don’t want to. Does anyone have any good types to maybe make it shorter or the curls look more under control. They are just a big mis and I hate it.

I have a smoothing serum, thermal protection and Paul Mitchell’s super skinny serum. Have not been using the last two much lately. Don’t really know anyone with curly hair like me.
