So my bf and I are finally going on a vacation together after 5 years of dating. We decided we would drive 7-8 hours to a popular vacation beach destination. Mainly this is a relaxing trip since we both have stressful jobs and want to just sit by the beach/ pool. Well I sent him a few places from different areas to try to find somewhere to stay. I couldn’t find any vacation houses, or air Bnbs so was stuck on finding hotels. My bf comes from a wealthier family and stays at places like the ritz and all. He always has traveled way more than me and stayed at resorts so should have a good idea of a nice hotel vs not nice. I on the other hand am more middle class. But am very cautious when booking hotels and reading reviews. Well my bf said he would find a hotel so I trusted him. I told him I just want to be waking distance to the beach and with a pool and outdoor bar. Since this is a popular vacation town almost every hotel has this. All the hotels I found were in our budget and had summer specials. Well my bf was about to book a hotel that was non refundable I trusted him but wanted to double check the reviews. Guys the place he was about to book is such a dump. It has horrible reviews, looks old and is nowhere near the beach. The pool is super small and has 5 lounge chairs around it. He told me he picked it because it has a kitchen so we could cook... it’s legit a microwave, sink and mini fridge. I’m just so shocked he picked this place and was ready to book it. I tried explaining to him how this hotel has nothing that I wanted nor what he wants (he wanted a hotel with a bar and breakfast). Like I’m just so shocked and kinda annoyed that I can’t trust him to pick a hotel lol
