Is this ridiculous??

I have a 3 yr old dog named OAKLEY, and I LOVE the name. I was thinking if I have a little girl I wanted to name her Oaklyn.... is that too ridiculous to have my dog and baby with similar names?

Dont take this the wrong way but dogs don't live nearly as long as people... can't be weird past their childhood 😅

Could be confusing.  I know a family that had a dog named Lucy and decided that they wanted to name their daughter that so they changed the dogs name after a few years!

I thoughr it would cause confusion since both of them may want to go by Oak in the future. What about another tree/nature name like Aspen, Willow, or Ashlyn?

Nope! My dogs name is Bailey Rae and we’re naming our baby girl Shaylee Rae 💗 The way I see it, this dog has been my constant for the last 10 years. Unconditional love through the horrible times and the happy times. I’m honored to give my daughter a part of what’s been my rock for so many years.

My son and cat share the same name. The cat was 12 when my son was born so we figured he won't be around forever and I really loved the name. It makes for some confusing convos sometimes but it's fine.

My partner had a dog called pippin who passed away the year before we had our daughter called Pippa. A couple of people said we named our daughter after his dog but it had nothing to do with the dog and we liked Pippa s😂

Oaklyn is a pretty name but you would possibly cause confusion for both the dog and your baby if you chose that name.

My dogs name is Oakley! She is 5 1/2 and just this year people started naming their children Oakley.  It was so weird to me at first LOL. I think Oaklyn is cute. People will judge no matter what you do tho so you do what you want mama!
