First ultrasound HELP

I went for a private ultrasound today. I’m 9 weeks. We saw the heart flickering and baby moving. They said it’s too early to hear heartbeat. I went to the same place with my last pregnancy and got hb at 8 weeks. Is this normal? I don’t have an apt with my OB until aug. 14.
