Adult catching croup?
My son was diagnosed with croup and had a short hospital stay because his breathing was so heavy and restricted. At the hospital we slept in the same bed as he was waking often and would panic like crazy and hyperventilate if I wasn’t beside him.
Yesterday we came home from the hospital and I felt ok in the morning, not great but I jut put it down to having hardly any sleep and no real food over the last few days. By the afternoon I was like a zombie and was struggling to stay awake, with a sore throat and hoarse voice, and pain/aches all over my body to the point that I cried when I had to get up off of the sofa. Today I’m feeling the same but also with a dry cough and stuffy nose.
I’ve read that the virus that causes croup is also responsible for laryngitis, but I’ve never felt this fluey or ill in my body with that before.
Any ideas? Treating myself at home so not majorly important to know what it is but wondering more about how contagious I am as I’m still caring for my toddler with croup 🙄
Thanks!
