When you go to a baby shower do you purchase the gift from their registry?

I believe in getting them what they ask for cause it's what they need, but the last shower I went to most of the people brought stuff that she didn't register for and I felt bad for her😐.

I do if they don’t just register for super $$$ stuff.  Some moms use their registry to try and force people to buy them all the big ticket items they don’t want to pay for themselves. Also I’m on Baby #4 so sometimes I give them something they didn’t register for but that I know they will find super useful, because when you are a first time mom sometimes it’s hard to know what you will actually use.

Sometimes, but not always. And actually, when I made my registry I didn't expect most people to shop from it. I put a few small things on it, like carseat covers and some toys, but for the most part my registry just had the bigger items. I figured most people go to the store and get clothes, diapers, bottles, and wipes, so I didn't bother adding any of those to the registry. Idk. I understand it's nice when people shop the registry, but I don't think we should expect it or be upset if they don't.

I buy from the registry, I also like to buy all of the little things, I was so grateful at my shower that all my big ticket items were bought, but it’s easy to forget about the little things until it’s too late. For example all the bath stuff, lotions, nail clippers, booger scoopers, etc. I know a lot of people will also split on big ticket items so it’s not too expensive for 1 person.
