Spotting

I'm not due for my period until Friday.well I'm spotting currently and wondering if that could be a sign of implantation ? Or just early period signs.

Last Monday I went in for a pap all she said was I had a lot of discharge covering my cervix . She asked if I was mid cycle which at that point I was .

Just wondering what I may be dealing with and if any of you guys have dealt with it .
