Is this herpes or something I should get checked out? (Finger photo)

I'm pregnant so I'm trying to be cautious and don't want any unnecessary infection. Other symptoms include red streaking down the forearm and a "bruised" feeling in certain spots from my thumb to my armpit. It is swollen at the base of my thumb and wrist.

Spots started as a red irritated spot and have grown in size over the last few days, but are not at the surface. I'm being very careful and keeping it clean and covered as I have a small child.

Would you assume it is herpes and let it clear up or get it checked out by a doctor to be safe? I've had smaller spots like this on my fingers in the past but never the red streaking or tenderness in arm.
