😭😭got an iud and very emotional.. Is this normal??

Its been 2 weeks i got my iud. Never had any other type of bc because im irregular. But i got an iud to help regulate my monthly but ive been so emotional. Frequent ups and downs and lost of appetite. Wondering anyone experienced any of these symptoms 😪

I’ve had it for 4 years and yes does give u mood swings I hated it!!! But everyone is different some people love it and have 0 side effects it just wasn’t for me.

It depends on how sensitive your body is to hormones. Speaking from experience, this did actually happen to me when I decided to get the kyleena IUD. I noticed a change in my overall sensitivity and had some heightened anxiety. Dealt with mood swings too and I was just emotional 60% of the time, which is not how I typically am when I’m hormone free. I switched to paragard and have noticed a drastic change and decrease in my anxiety. I’m overall back to normal now except I still can PMS like a bitch lol, but I own it.
