Is it bad to dye my hair when pregnant? I need a change, I don’t feel pretty:(

My ob said she highlighted her hair every 6 weeks through all 4 of her pregnancies so if she's cool with doing it herself than so am I

Most research indicates the chemicals found in both semi-permanent and permanent dyes are not highly toxic and are safe to use during pregnancy, but my doctor also said that they would prefer I did not do it! The main thing to avoid is any dye with Ammonia in it! And don’t dye in a bathroom without any ventilation! I’ve done some pigmented dye,

pink on the bottom half of my hair, just for a change and made sure the dye didn’t come in contact with my skin!

There is even evidence showing that the toxin level in your blood goes up even after just painting your fingernails. So I personally wouldn’t do hair dye
