Can a ring worm come back?

I had a ring worm spot like 4-5 months ago.

I used the creams and it died and crusted over and then went completely away but I’ve always been able to see where it was kinda like a scar? It was only one ring worm. Yet, the “scar” is all the sudden scabby and itchy. It looks like it did before I got it treated.

How can ring worm all the sudden come back in the exact same spot out of nowhere when it’s been gone for months? This is a covered part of my body, it’s on my torso. My torso doesn’t touch anything but my bed and my sheets are washed almost daily in hot water.

The thought crossed my mind “maybe it never went away.” Okay well if that were the case, Ring worm is highly contagious. If it never went away it would have spread all over the place and gotten to my so and my pets.

Yet that didn’t happen.

And oh yes, it was definitely ring worm. I went to the doctor for it. Don’t know what it is now..
