Back injury + Midsection exercise

I’ll likely come back to this after my MRI to give updates, but I’m 34 years old and feeling down about a back injury I gained after losing almost 30 pounds between October 2018 - April 2019.

I adjusted my caloric intake and did exercises without weights so that I could attend a sibling’s wedding healthier and happier. I’m still at the weight I reached in April, however my midsection is returning to the way it looked prior to the weight loss. Now that I know I’ve a back injury I’m freaking out that I won’t be able to lose the weight again. I’m adjusting my consumption to accommodate GERD (it was under control and now it isn’t again) but these back creases and stomach hanging over my undies can’t handle crunches and sit-ups until I’ve a full diagnosis.
