I’m Sick of Aesthetics🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep. That’s right, I’m sick and tired of them. Aesthetics are stupid, in my opinion of course.

Health is what should matter to everyone. Not how skinny or fat someone is.

I feel like postpartum women should be able to love their body, they just gave birth. But of course, society says you have to be skinny or curvy to be beautiful. I believe fat women should be able to be comfortable and love their bodies, even if they’re trying to change. I believe skinny women should be able to love their body, even if they don’t have boobs or an ass. I believe skinny and fat men are just as worthy as bodybuilder/muscular men.

DISCRIMINATION TOWARDS YOUR OWN BODY WILL ALWAYS REMAIN, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU LOSE.

I hate when someone posts their height and weight. Because commenters who know this person is underweight says, “you’re model size.”

Most models are unhealthily underweight. Sorry, not sorry.

I think I feel this way because I’m recovering from disordered eating. I’m 5’3” and once wished to be 95 pounds. Starved myself. Ran everyday, even when it hurt to. And now I’m between 110-115, so much better. All of this just to be skinnier than I already was. My mother and aunt constantly talk about needing to lose weight. My aunt overexercises with a hurt knee and eats 800 CALORIES A DAY. She looks at me like I’m disgusting for being healthy. I know I’m not the only one who goes through this, so please, don’t follow in those kind of footsteps!

IT IS NOT HEALTHY TO EAT LESS THAN 1200 CALORIES A DAY. And if you do, and you have a family that cares very much about you (especially kids), you’re throwing it all away for refusing help.

I know it is a struggle to admit to yourself AND others that you need help, but if you starve yourself, purge, binge and then purge, or over exercise for an aesthetic, YOU NEED HELP. SO PLEASE GET IT.

So I find it very disrespectful for someone to comment and say, “yeah, you’re skinny but you’re model type!” Especially when everyone else is like, “you’re underweight and need to go get help.”

I believe every individual should stop worrying about societal aesthetics and focus on being healthy and strong.
