To take progesterone shots or not??

My daughter came at 36 weeks last year but with no complications and went home like normal. She literally was just done cooking lol. My doctors are wanting progesterone shots to make sure this next baby doesn’t come even earlier. Has anyone had these or been in the same situation and didn’t take the shots? I’m worried if I take the progesterone it will keep baby in too long and end up with a csection.

My eldest my water broke at 34 weeks, my youngest came at 30 weeks. 
I am on the progesterone shots. They told me to expect baby to arrive 7-14 days after my last shot 35 weeks. They usually stop at 36 weeks but my appts lined up to be at the end of the week so we are skipping the last shot

I am in the same situation. Had my baby at 36, water broke at 35. And no complications. I'm 25 weeks and have been on the shots since 16. I am also worries about going longer and having to get a c section.... but I'm hoping to have her around 38/39 on my own. I read and heard shots stop I think at 36 weeks and most people have the baby a week or two after that!

I didn’t experience this but my cousin did. Her first son came at 36 weeks. I believe they gave her 1 shot in the hospital to help his lungs because she was already in labor. He ended up coming out perfectly healthy and didn’t need to stay in the NICU. Her second son her doctor had her do the progesterone shots again just in case and he came out around 37 weeks.
