Is it rude?

My dad lives far away from me and I only see him about twice a year. He just came to visit me and my son (his only grandchild) for a few days. He's staying with us, and this time he also brought his new girlfriend. They have been going away doing stuff all day together all days they've been here and I asked if we could come with as I'm assuming he's here visiting his grandson, not using me for having a cheap vacation with his new girl. He told me they wanted to go by themselves and I told him I was disappointed that he comes over and spends so little time with us, that he seems to be over to have some nice time with his girl rather than spending time with my son. I'm pretty upset and I'm wondering if I'm overreacting about this or if he's being rude? We live on an exotic island and coming here is expensive, but as they're staying with me they get food and housing for free and hotels and such are super expensive here so I feel really used. If they wanted to go on vacation I feel like they shouldn't have come and stayed with me. I thought they were coming over to see us, you know. They have been eating breakfast with me, then they have left and gone away and haven't come back until dinner time. They have been here five days and they're going home tomorrow.
