Tips and tricks for pumping!
Hey mommas 😁
I thought it would be fun and helpful to share things we do to make pump life easier. I work full time so pump up to 4 times a day. And I was thinking this morning about my pump routine and the things I do to maximize milk and make my life easier. I'd love to hear your hacks and routines too!!
- hands free bra!! I start everyday pumping while I get ready. Hands free pump bras are a lifesaver. With my first baby I did a DIY bra, this time I bought one and it is worth every penny!
-At the end of my pump sessions I squish the membranes across the rim of the bottles, that always gets a couple extra drops that would have been stuck in my parts.
-I also hand express at the end of each session. There always seems to be a little milk left that the pump fails to get.
-While I'm at work I refrigerate my parts in between pump sessions to speed up cleanup. I bought produce bags on amazon to hold everything in a clean, yet disposable space.
- if im struggling to get a letdown I look at pics and videos of my son. My pump bag has a little slot for a picture, I really need to print one out!
- car adapter. I use mine rarely, but it's a lifesaver when I get a busy day at work and miss my afternoon session. My pump never seems to work at full power (?) But it gets something out.
- And I keep a cardigan with my pump bag at work. If im cold I have a much harder time pumping. Maybe because I'm not relaxed?
