Ovulation spotting , help please

Okay guys.... so my ovulation estimated day is today, the past 5ish or so cycles I’ve had mid cycle bleeding, so it’s 100% ovulation bleeding and sometimes a slight cramp or so.... anyways, so I know that I spot when I ovulate but my question is, do I bleed before my egg is released? During? Or after its released? We had sex two days ago because I knew that my light spotting meant that I’m ovulating, but I just wondered if the bleeding happens after my egg has passed and if it was too late to try!! Thoughts????
