No DNA of baby’s in my blood? Is this normal?

So I got my blood test done at 14 weeks. No call back for any update so today, 13 days later, at 16 weeks pregnant, I call and she tells me there wasn’t any DNA of the baby’s in my blood that I need to come back in and get it redone. Please tell me this is normal. 😩

This happened to me as well. The company that processed the blood labeled me as high risk due to my age, weight, and history of miscarriage. I was terrified, my OB even asked if I wanted to terminate the pregnancy! I of course said no, I already have a special needs son, I can handle another. But when I went for my next appointment she said let’s repeat the labs. So I did and this time there was enough baby’s DNA present! I’m low risk for any abnormality and having a perfect little girl! It happens and doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong.

I just recently read 2 stories that these women had to do dna test with their kids and they came back that the kids were the fathers but not the mothers kids and the kids got taken till they could prove those were their kid! And its some rare thing that when a mom has a twin or somthing but the twin doesnt make it and while the baby is forming or somthing the organs or whatever end up in the living baby and thats how they came back not that mothers baby even though!! She carried and birthed the kids lol idk if that your case or not but it was just interesting and your post made me think of it im not 100% syre what it was called tho!

I had that happen to me. I had it done at 13 weeks and it came back inconclusive because there wasn't enough of his DNA to test. Got sent to a geneticist to discuss other testing options and have an in depth ultrasound done. Everything looked good on the ultrasound so i opted not to do the amniocentisis they offered and to just have the first test redone at 16 weeks. Everything worked out the 2nd time and it showed I'm low risk for everything. I have a high risk pregnancy for other reasons and have an ultrasound every 4 weeks and so far he looks perfectly fine.
