Okay so I’m having a parent fart and idek why. I can’t remember if I ever had to give my first child benedryl under 2 years old. My 8 month old (9 months the 23rd) got amoxicillin yesterday for a ear infection. Tonight was her 4th dose. I was getting her ready for bed when I noticed a rash/tiny dots. Low and behold it’s probably bc she’s allergic to amoxicillin. She’s not having trouble breathing or anything serious like that so I’m going to take her in tomorrow to get looked at and re prescribed something else. In the meantime I feel I should give her Benedryl bc it’s not like she has the words to tell me it itches or bothers her. She’s not cranky at all and doesn’t seem bothered by it I just feel bad not giving her anything for it. Can she have Benedryl? I know for sure 6 months and under can not. It does say online directed my physician If under 2 years old. Or should I just not give it to her? NOTE: I have already given her motrin bc she still has a fever from the ear infection.
