40+5...possible induction...

My cervix has finally softened but no dilation yet! Dr. is suggesting induction tomorrow night and I’m just so nervous!! Baby is healthy but the ultrasound today showed some variance in his/her head’s location. It’s down but sometimes didn’t stay over the cervix. I’m nervous that maybe baby is actually due next week (both sides of the family have big babies, plus our very original due date was 7/21 until our first ultrasound at 12 weeks pushed the date ahead), that baby should stay in longer, and that induction will be painful.

Anyone else experience 0 dilation after your due date?
