Dilation means nothing until you're in active labor and having steady contractions. I was 3cm and 80% effaced with a low cervix for 3 weeks before labor actually came.
It's good they've started you on something to relax your uterus. Just take it easy and relax mama, you're gonna be ok 💕💕

Effacement is more of an indication of labor than dilation.

I’m 32 weeks and 1cm dilated and my cervix is pretty short, they said I’m at risk for preterm labour but I can definitely still go past my due date. 
Just rest more often!
