Rude comments to pregnant women
I am tempted to start a blog and post all the rude comments I get from co-workers and acquaintances about how I look while I’m pregnant. Today I got, “you are bigger than my niece and she is due on Saturday!” I really don’t see how that comment benefits anyone??? Why do I need to be reminded how big I am???
I’ve literally had someone go out of their way to tell me that I’m waddling when I walk. This was said by an HR person too! And had numerous occasions where someone says “are you sure you aren’t carrying twins?” Why do people think that’s a funny thing to say???
I really can’t believe how clueless people can be with their comments. Of course I know I and big, I get dress myself everyday and know that my belly is sticking out. And who cares if I waddle, I need to walk slow!
I have started to shame people for these comments and calling them out as rude and unnecessary. My body is big and this is how my body makes a hospitable for my baby to grow! I really wish some folks were more clued into their comments. Seeing a pregnant woman does not mean you get a free pass at commenting on how someone looks.
Here’s a pic from today, I do feel I look exactly right for me at 32 weeks!
