Crib to pack and play.

Right now my baby's crib is in our room and he sleeps in it (most of the time) we will be moving and his room will be on the other side of the house and I want his crib in his room so when we do move him but right now neither of us are ready so I was going to set up his pack and play but I don't want him to take steps back. Do you guys think it'll effect him at all? He's a pretty easy going baby.
