I went for my 8 week appointment yesterday and during the ultrasound, found that the gestational sac only contained a yolk sac- no baby. They called it a Blighted Ovum. This is our second “fluke” loss in 8 months. 😔 I opted to have a d&c today because we are supposed to be at the beach with my whole family next week and I don’t want to miscarry there.. around everyone. Especially since we were waiting to announce during that trip. I was rushed in for a d&c in November after a second trimester loss and it’s all kind of a blur. I stayed overnight in the hospital and took a few days to recover. It seems like that had more to do with the trauma of it all in addition to coming off the heavy pain medication? I’m wondering what to expect from a scheduled d&c. Will I be able to drive (ride) 8 hours to the beach by Saturday?
