What is something that I don't need in my diaper bag?

All you need is wipes, diapers, an extra outfit, and depending if it’s summer or winter suncreen and a sun hat or a small blanket and a winter hat. If your need to bring bottles too obviously pack those but most of the stuff packed in a diaper bag does not get used

12 different kinds of wipes. Binky wipes, bottle wipes, hands and face wioes, boogie wipes. Just 1 large pack of wipes, diapers, extra binkys, change of clothes, socks, muslin blanket. Done

It’s better to overpack than underpacked. Better to be over prepared than under prepared. 👍🏼 You’ll only need all the extra things for baby’s first year. After that, it’ll just be the essentials. The time will go by quicker than you think. I remember carrying the diaper bag everywhere we went when my baby was first born. Lol I had everything but the kitchen sink (totally kidding!). Now that my daughter is almost 3, we literally only carry a handful of items for short trips.

I’m a new mum and my LO is only 8 days old. My nappy (diaper) bag has:
Nappies
Wipes 
Nappy bags
Change of clothes x2 (including scratch mits and hats etc.)
Nursing apron
Breast pads
Cotton wool
Muslin cloths x2/3
Changing pad
We use our bag around the house so we have everything we need no matter which room we’re in. We have had a couple of outings so far though and found that we had everything we needed then too.

I stick to wipes, diapers, butt cream, sippy of water, snack cup (goldfish or fruit), a change of clothes, a binky, and sunscreen with a hat (during the summer months). In winter I take out the sunscreen and throw in some mittens and a muslin blanket. For a new baby, you need your feeding supplies, diapering supplies, change of clothes, and my son had reflux so I kept his Zantac in the bag in case we were out and he needed it. If you basically have one diaper bag that goes everywhere, I keep his insurance card as well as emergency numbers in a baggy in the front pocket.

Toys. I never once used any toys I packed. Kids always preferred bottle lids, pacifier, or random other things I had while out.
