So my doctor told me that my labs showed a recent genital hsv2 outbreak. What does that mean? I asked her if I can take medication to reduce my chances of passing it and reduce my outbreaks but she said I don’t need to since my outbreak is over. I’m confused can’t anyone with hsv take medication. Why won’t she give it to me?

Also I’ve never had a cluster of bumps. Some times I just get ONE bump at a time. I’ll squeeze it and it gets bigger before popping. Is that my “outbreak”
