Depression and cleaning tips that help me
I don't have postpartum depression LOL just the Good Ol regular kind of depression. I had depression really really bad before I had my baby and now I just have anxiety. Regardless I hate cleaning. Some things that help me when I can hardly even get out of bed other than to make a bottle for my baby:
Remember it's okay to half-ass things! Especially if you have a brand spanking new baby to take care of. If doing things is going to take too much energy, it's better to take put the energy towards baby. Doing a little bit is a lot better than not doing anything at all.
🌼Big tip first, take care of smelly things first. Litter box, trash, dishes, showering.🌼
🌻You don't have to do all the laundry right now. Just gather it.
🌻 You don't have to fold all the laundry right now. Just sorted so it's easy to go through you need to find things.
🌻Try to make your bed everyday. Bonus points for brushing off the crumbs and sand from your sheets. You'll feel so much better then even. Just making your bed will make your whole room look neater.
🌻If you're stressing over dishes, organize them on the counter and rinse them. That way when it comes time to actually washing them it's easier and less time-consuming.
🌻 If you don't have the energy or time to shower, take some baby wipes and give yourself a quick wipe down- face pits ass.
🌻 Put on fresh clean clothes.
🌻Brush your hair.
🌻 If brushing your teeth is too time-consuming, gurgle some mouthwash. Spit that shit into an old soda bottle.
Doing even one out of these many things will help you feel better and sometimes once you get one thing done you feel good and motivated enough to get a bunch done. It's really hard for me to get things done at all, but once I start I just keep going. Such an accomplishing feeling!
