Question

And still not holding self up with arms or able to hold his head up very far. Is this okay or should I be worried. When I’m holding him on my chest he has great head/neck control will turn his head and look around and holds it steady. Just during tummy time he can’t lift it up maybe like a inch or two

Mine is the same way. She’ll be three months on Aug 1st. I still do tummy time. Sometimes she’s cool with it. Other times she hates it. Totally my child. I use a little pillow thing that came with her toys to prop her up for some of the sessions and other times just straight on her tummy. She can hold her head up when I hold her. She can look around. She can move her head from side to side during tummy time. I’m not worried. She’ll life it eventually. She does it when I put a mirror near her so she can see herself.

Mine was the same way, he held his head fine when being held but when doing tummy time he'd pretty much just face plant into the floor. Finally the last week or so he's been lifting his head and chest and is so much more receptive to it since he's not just staring at the ground. I'm sure your babe will get there! It honestly just seemed like my little guy was being lazy about it, haha.

The time they can hold their own head is about 4 months. You got plenty of time!!

My LO does not like tummy time, but I still do it just not for 10min! He does like to be held on his tummy, so i do that & it seems to be working on his back & neck muscles as well.

Mine can do the same thing. He does much better on my chest. My pediatrician said to do tummy time in small increments throughout the day. 5 to 10 minutes every hour or so and he has been doing so much better.
