Anyone buy baby things before you actually conceived?

There are a lot of sales going on at the moment. I’m planning on trying for the first time next week, and I have been debating if I should start buying clothes while sales are going on.

I’m worried that if I buy anything before I’m pregnant and it doesn’t happen right away it would make me too depressed. But I’m my brain I know that clothes are hella expensive so why not save the money if they are on sale?

I bought the essentials. Like baby brushes and a hoppy pillow I found on sale and small toys. I bought a baby item each time I got my period to help boost the hope that when it does happen. I’ll be ready but now it’s been almost two years and still nothing and I have shoved everything into bins and under my bed. Plus I worry I will get duplicates when I have a baby shower

I've had multiple miscarriages so I do what I want lol. If there is a really good sale or something too cute to pass up I buy things, usually clothes. To us take up a lot of space and I have worried about bottles and teether toys. I figure clothes are always needed and can buy different sizes.

You don’t need to buy anything .. I literally didn’t buy anything until after my son was born.  You get everything in your registry!

There are always so many baby sales throughout the year. I get emails all the time about huge deals. So don't worry about missing out on those. If you think having a baby item or a few will help with the process go for it. If you think having it will stress you out if it does not happen right away then don't.

I personally couldn't. It would kill me to see those things with no baby. I honestly waited until I was about 30 weeks to purchase an item for my first pregnancy (a baby book). I do however enjoy looking at baby stuff and trying out the strollers.

For me I think it would have made me upset to have baby things and no baby. I tried for 5ish years for my first with 2 MC inbetween and if I would have had baby stuff while miscarrying I don't think it would have helped at all. I didnt start buying anything until like 24 weeks. I was too paranoid. But I had everything by like 32 weeks and I don't think I paid full price for anything except the crib. It seems the same (or most popular I guess) baby stuff goes on sale alllll the time!
