So my sister in law is pregnant with her second, and she still doesn’t know that I am too. She is around 20 wks and just announced it to extended family and friends yesterday on social media.

We were planning on announcing this weekend when I’ll be 13 wks. But now we are unsure because we don’t want to take her spotlight. I’m bummed she announced this week but it’s not like she knew...

Should we wait? Should we just go ahead and do it anyways? Or should we tell her and ask? I just feel weird about asking someone else’s permission on when we can announce 😅

EDITED TO ADD: I should have mentioned she is the most competitive person for attention I have ever met. Everything always has to be about her and she has to one up everything that isn’t. For example (in no particular order): my husband and I got married, 6 months later their brother got married and shortly after she announced her first pregnancy and that she was getting married.

Her brother announced his wife’s pregnancy so she decided she wanted another baby the day after he announced. My husband and I got a dog so she got one a few weeks later. We rented a nicer house so she bought one. I got a new car and she immediately got the one she knew I wanted but couldn’t afford. We booked a week long trip to Mexico so she booked a 10 day trip to Mexico. The examples are endless but these are the big ones. Her brain will probably melt when she finds out I’m pregnant at the same time. It’s not necessarily an experience I want to share with her lol
