Difference of Opinions

Okay so there is this guy I like that likes me back and most of my friends support it but my closest friend says she doesn’t completely support it because he and I have different political opinions and she thinks that will cause problems in the future. I guess what I’m asking is should I pursue a relationship with him or not? I’m just really confused rn 😂
