Breastfed to bottle fed

Emma

I have great dreams of breastfeeding my little one.

I still plan to pump and feed her breast milk, but have had multiple issues with her overeating at the breast and throwing up entire feedings, because I don’t know what she’s intaking. I was advised by a nurse line to shorten feedings, but space them closer together.

Then today by her new Ped, we were told we need to supplement with formula because she is still not back up to birthweight (and is a tiny girl, currently 5 pounds 8 ounces)

For my own sanity, for knowing she’s eating enough but not TOO much, I plan to switch to mostly formula feeding her, and also give her some pumped breast milk.

My question is how much do I feed her, formula wise? I need her to get enough, but again, not overfeed her. Her puking up entire feedings is not doing my heart or her weight any good. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated at this point. I plan to call her Ped tomorrow, but I’m afraid he may not be in the office 😞 help me get through this weekend, mamas

Ps, she is 9 days old.
