Yes I agree with Mon’e can be very messy and sticky. 
I did it after seeing a post on here last summer. I ripped half of it in half first and it took so long. It was nice having a flavoring while doing it lol.
And it also kept getting stuck on my tongue ring. Lol. 
Needless to say I haven’t done it since.
