Why does my baby act like she isn’t getting full off of breast milk

Question

So my daughter is a week old and I have been trying so hard to breast feed but my little girl doesn’t act like she gets full at all drinking it
And it sets up for her to have a messed up eating schedule (due to frequent feeds) 
I tried using formula (enfamil) with her and it worked out good, I would like to breastfeed her but if she isn’t getting full from it i will go fully to formula. 
(I have also been pumping so I could see what she’s getting)

Babies cluster feed a lot in the beginning. It’s normal and shouldn’t be stopped. They do it to bring up your supply. This is the reason you don’t follow a schedule, but feed on demand. Growth spurts = clusterfeeding

This early baby needs to feed on demand and not have a schedule at all.
Definitely consult a professional and determine whether you do have low milk supply or there is a latch issue or everything is fine.
I had the same issue and panicked and used formula but after speaking to a lactation consultant I realized everything was fine.
The only ways to determine if a baby is getting enough milk is to count wet and dirty diapers (this only works on exclusive breastfed babies because if you are supplementing with formula you can't determine the amount of breast milk) and monitoring weight gain.
Also pumping is not a true gage of your supply since no pump can drain milk as effectively as a baby can.

I would recommend seeing a lactation consultant or going to a breastfeeding support group. You could just be dealing with cluster feeding but baby might not be latching correctly. Better to get hands on help early and prevent supply and weight gain issues. Good luck!

Pumping is not an indicator of supply, because baby is more efficient at removing milk. The more milk you remove, the more you will make. So put baby on breast often. Don’t pump, because that will confuse your body - it will think it needs to make even more & you could end up with an oversupply which has its own problems. For the first few weeks, baby will be on your breasts all the time and that’s normal. They’re bringing in & establishing your supply. You can do this!

Maybe just pump and bottle feed her that way you can see how much she's getting and make sure it's enough
